Earthen Forge x 70s House Manchester - Yootha Tangerine Exclusive Pots.
Here at 70s House Manchester, we LOVE working with fellow small businesses and artists, if you follow our Instagram you will have seen that we have been working with the adorable Mayra from Earthen Forge.
She first started to be interested in art when watching an older cousin sketch Chicano style pencil drawings as child, her love of art and creating never diminished. She initially wanted to become a silver smith, but look classes in pottery instead, and hated it! Luckily, she persevered and found a patient teacher who helped her gain the skills to create the items that she wanted in her own home.
Mayra’s pottery is inspired by the counterculture movement of the 60s and 70s as well as growing up in So Cal and her Chicano heritage. Her themes often include bright colours, mushrooms, cactus, rainbows and supergraphic swirls and her range includes mugs, planters, canisters and tea pots all executed in her signature style.
Fast forward to 2021, Mayra now works out of her studio in Austin, Texas, where there is a large and supportive artist community. Her recognisable style ensures that collections sell out immediately, she is stocked online and in stores globally.
We first met when she became a customer, purchasing our Yootha Tangerine wallpaper. We got chatting online and she made me a planter as a gift, which turned into a much larger conversation about a collaboration using our iconic super graphic design on a limited collection of planters and mugs.

As a result of that telephone call back in June, Mayra is proudly launching the Yootha Tangerine range of planters and mugs on 10th December 2021 at 2pm CST (8pm BST) you can purchase HERE in time for the holidays, she also ships internationally (please bear in mind shipping times).
I am sure that you will all think that the interpretation of our classic Yootha design looks fantastic on Earthen Forges range of hand thrown pottery and we wish her every success with the launch on Friday.
